Dental Marketing, Basic, Advanced and Millenial Targetting

Complications of Odontogenic Infections
The oral cavity is a haven for growth of microorganisms. Odontogenic infections can spread to nearby structures causing severe complications including cavernous sinus thrombosis, necrotizing fasciitis, cerebral abscesses, sepsis, to name a few.
Modern antibiotic therapy has greatly reduced the incidence of infections. Serious morbidity and even fatalities still occur however, due 8to poor recognition and diagnosis. This session aims to create awareness of possible life-threatening complications in children if not addressed promptly and appropriately.

Anesthesia and the Growing Brain
Procedures involving pregnant women and children requiring General Anesthesia is on the rise. The rapid growth of the fetal and the young infant brain potentially makes this patient group most vulnerable to neurotoxicity from anesthetic agent(s).
Numerous RCTs and open peer reviews conducted worldwide show an association between neurocognitive development in children below 3 years old and the length/repeated exposure to anesthetics. No association however was noted on behavior and motor development, as well as from a single exposure to anesthetics less than 3 hours long.
