Dr. Angelita Sievert-Fernandez

Psychologist, The Medical City, Philippines

Dr. Angie Sievert-Fernandez is a Registered Psychologist, a Certified Specialist in Counseling and Developmental Psychology and a Certified Child Life Specialist by the Child Life Council, USA. She’s an advocate for developmentally appropriate practices in education and in assessment and intervention strategies for psychological and mental health concerns in children. Dr. Angie completed Intensive Training and Supervision at The Center for Play Therapy at the University of North Texas and obtained a Certificate in Therapeutic Play Skills from the Play Therapy International. She has been an observer in Psychological Medicine, in Pain Clinics and in Child Life Programs in hospitals in the US and Australia. Dr. Angie holds private practices in St. Luke’s Medical Center, Global City, in Manila Doctors Hospital and in LH Prime Medical Clinic in Cebu. Dr. Angie is the Child Life Program Manager of Kythe Foundation Inc, the only organization in the country providing psychosocial care for hospitalized children through the Child Life Program. She oversees these programs in partner hospitals nationwide. Dr. Angie finished BS Psychology at the University of San Carlos, cum laude, Masters in Family Life and Child Development at UP-Diliman and Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling Psychology at De La Salle University.

Dr. Juan Yepes

Juan F. Yepes DDS, MD, MPH, MS, DrPH is professor in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at Indiana University School of Dentistry and an attending at Riley Children Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. Juan F. is a dentist (DDS) and a physician (MD) from Javeriana University at Bogotá, Colombia. In 1999, Juan F. moved to the USA and attended the University of Iowa and the University of Pennsylvania where he completed a fellowship and residency in Radiology and Oral Medicine respectively in 2002 and 2004. In 2006, Juan F. completed a Master in Public Health (MPH), and in 2011 a Doctoral Degree in Public Health (DrPH) both with emphasis in Epidemiology at the University of Kentucky College of Public Health. In 2008, Juan F. completed a residency program in Dental Public Health at University of Texas, Baylor College of Dentistry. Finally, Juan F. completed a residency program and a master in pediatric dentistry at the University of Kentucky in 2012.

Juan F. is board-certified by the American Boards of Pediatric Dentistry, Oral Medicine, and Dental Public Health. He is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Academy of Oral Medicine, American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, Indiana Dental Association, and American Dental Association. Juan F. is a fellow in dental surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons at Edinburgh. He is a member of the editorial board of Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, and Oral Radiology. He has many years of experience in medicine, medically compromised children and dental protocols, diagnosis and radiology in children and shares these experiences in outstanding lectures.

Oral and Systemic Manifestations of SARS-CoV-2 on Children

This seminar will provide to the attendee the most updated information of the oral and systemic manifestations of SARS-CoV-2 in children. Since the first cases of COVID-19 were reported in China in December 2019, an overwhelming amount of information was available for health practitioners around the world including controversies about children and the infection. This lecture will discuss the key aspects of the infection in children and the oral manifestations.
